London Second Time - Docklands

Earlier I had a set on the blog for the first of 2 trips to London in the space of 3 weeks. The second time I was in London I was visiting my company offices in Canary Wharf - I work for Thomson Reuters, so this is the spiritual home of the company. We had a large company meeting involving a video link between London and New York - and the Asian management team got to go to london to be all jet-lagged and part of it. Because so many people were needing hotels at that time, all around Canary Wharf were fully booked. I was placed in a hotel across the river, needing a boat ride across to the office on the other side. The hotel was one of the worst I have ever satyed in - in fact so bad it was amusing in a “Fawlty Towers” kind of way. Luckily I was only there for 3 nights.

Amazingly the weather was once again very nice - especially when I arrived. A jet-lagged me decided to walk around the area of the hotel on a nice sunny afternoon to see the old docks and neighbourhoods and take some photos. Once again the Fuji X-Pro1 and X-E1 came along with some selection of lenses. I processed some of the photos using VSCO color presets for Apple Aperture and some using the Nik Silver Efex 2 for Aperture. I like the mood of the B&W ones.

I have to say that I still much prefer the look of real film for Black and White and will be doing a lot more around Tokyo this winter. My Hasselblad and probably my Mamiya await!

Looking all Gotham-esque. The view of Canary Wharf from my side of the Thames. Fuji X-E1 and Fujinon 35mm F1.4. Finished in Nik Silver Efex.

One of the last flowers in the whole park. Fuji X-E1 and Fujinon 35mm F1.4.

Brodie obviously had been here. Fuji X-E1 and Fujinon 35mm F1.4.

Love the texture here. Fuji E-E1 and Fujinon 35mm F1.4.

I have no idea what has been used as the weight on the end of this, but this is a sample of just how good the Fujinon 35mm F1.4 lens really is. My Leica and Nikon glass only just comes close.

I was a window once. Fuji X-E1 and Fujinon 35mm F14.
